Mark my words, I WILL GO:

◻︎South Korea

It would be a dream come true to visit South Korea. I have so many places to see especially in a time of history where region may be going through some historical changes! The geek in me would like to visit DMZ zone while the tourist in me is already imagining the soju, bbq, makgeolli, jiggae on the other side of the world. Mark my words, I will make it there.

◻︎Uzbekistan

While researching more about my culture and the beautiful and lesser known history of countries in South and Central Asia, my mind kept coming back to Uzbekistan! A work buddy of mine went recently and her experience fostered a lot of curiosity. I am hoping to soon experience the same hospitality and hub of culture that I here is vibrant in Uzbekistan!

Where I have GONE:

☑︎Montreal, Canada

This particular city has been on the list since forever. Ideally I would like to see each season, but I think fall and spring would be the priority. I have been badgering my friends for a girl's trip out there for a week or so. Hopefully I will be able to go to Montreal by the end of Summer 2019.

October 15th 2020: As my siblings and I all moved out of my parents within the same week, my parents have been feeling a little glum. As my move was more unexpected, I felt a little guilty. As a way to make the parents feel better, my brother and I organized a family Columbus Day Weekend trip to Montreal. It was nice to go out with them to spend family time and celebrate their anniversary that was just a few days later. While not the girl trip I imagined, sometimes a family road trip is what you really need!

☑︎Arizona, USA

After a close friend moved to Arizona, I have committed to making a plan to visit her A trip to the Grand Canyon, Phoenix and more are on the growing list of places to see as well.

March 28th 2019: Arizona was a whirlwind of a trip! There was a whole lot of ups and downs roadtripping all over! I must say that Northern Arizona really was incredible! Page, Arizona was like no other place. Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend are incredible! It really brings you face to face with how absolutely beautiful the world can be.

☑︎Chicago, USA

I have been hearing from friends and family alike that Chicago could be the city for me! I would love to hang around and check it out! It is always nice to find a city with a different pace. I am excited to check out Chicago soon!

June 19th 2019: Chicago will have a special place in my heart. As the first place I’ve truly attempted to travel to solo, it was one of the most successful trips I’ve taken yet this year! From 12 mi bike rides to walking all over town, I am excited to come back!

☑︎Istanbul, Turkey

My first international trip solo should have been to Turkey way back in 2012. I was invited to represent my high school for a conference, but my parents weren’t too happy about letting me go by myself. Long story short, my parents didn’t let me renew my then expired passport and I wasn’t able to go on the trip. Here I am, eight years later, with a work opportunity that will allow me to travel to Istanbul for work. I am excited and a little nervous as it will be the first time I will travel to a new country by myself! I guess some things really do come full circle.

Due to the implications of COVID-19 on travel, my work trip has been cancelled and I can only hope we will be able to make up for it next summer.

December 15, 2023: I think the universe actively tried to block my travels to Turkey! Despite having a work trip scheduled for the summer to Turkey, I had a feeling something would go wrong again. As such, I planned a layover in Turkey on my way to India. It was the most phenomenal three hours. I will return, but I got to see (and eat) so much!
